I have always been inclined towards numbers. Have been fascinated by data and wanted to learn business, hence opted for sales career. My professional stints pushes me to achieve and run towards the numbers. Sales is always frontline and hence responsibilities or ownership levels are much higher than other function, as every function is dependant on this. Pressure is ON always.
Sales has its highs and lows. There are times when you’re elated beyong the limits. This is possible when you’ve satisfied your customers, cracked a big deal or brought a sale that was satisfactory to your mind and heart, over achieved your targets (which I’m sure nobody does!š), good negotiations so on and so forth. Also, there are times when you feel so awful that you for a moment you see a deadend to the road. But sales is all about never giving up. Repeating the things tens of thousands of times with the same excitement and joy. Yes, it becomes monotonous sometimes, but taking a break works.
Sales makes a person and sometimes breaks as well. The relationship you develop is the key achievement of the function. This helps throughout your life. Sales makes an individual tough and a warrior for life.
Sales is a sinusoidal wave having its crestband trough. I’ve passed through both the phases, and I keep enjoying it.
