The Power Of Networking!

Your Network is your net worth” – Porter Gale

I honestly believe that the stronger network you possess, the higher reach you can gain. I always knew the power of networking, but it was evident and exemplified in front of my eyes during the tough times of the pandemic – Covid19 and this has opened my vision towards building a stronger network.

Networking gives a chance to let one know the exact trend in the market, it gives you a better insight towards upskilling and the most important part is – it let’s you connect. Connecting with peers, colleagues, market leaders, trendsetters which will enhance yourself.

Connecting each others doesn’t simply mean adding numbers to your profile, it is basically connecting each dots. Referring each other, helping in the time of need or understanding the real value of the connection. Connection is the potential resource.

Lending up a job of your choice, gaining more knowledge about your professional likings through a networking platform can be useful only once you start engaging with your connections. The more you engage with higher number of your connections, the stronger your network becomes. The algoritham is quite simple. I think networking is a subset of a people management skill inside you.

Networking in today’s world is a concept that has led a lot of advertisers to turn their head and source out an income from it. Social Networking and Professional Networking are totally two different notion. I’m mostly into professional networking. There are good networking platforms, but LinkedIn is by far the best in terms of penetration and market share, one of the reasons being people awareness.

I have been using networking platform actively since end of 2017, mainly to reach out to C-Suite professionals or decision makers to take my sales to the next step and setting up the meeting. But it’s in these tough times, since last 3.5 months, that I realised a single connect can create wonders. Whether it be people referring for jobs, or taking an opportunity to the networks of the network for better and correct reach, not to forget upskilling oneself. The most important part of the networking is story telling. The unheard story reaches to millions in a click, is read by thousands and impact hundreds – that’s the real potential of networking

A very empathatic tagline, I came across while browsing through YouTube advertisements, “We are in this Together“. It seemed so connecting to people who are going through some tough times. This was the tagline of LinkedIn. LinkedIn roughly has 690 million people representing 50 million companies globally. A report suggest that there is a 26% rise in sessions for the quarter. LinkedIn Leraning saw a 50% monthly increase in March with users watching over 4 million hours of content. Realise the power of the network. Doesn’t it look fabulous?!

Networking grows you. It helps you in becoming a better version of yourself. With this first post, I promise myself that by the end of 2025, I will make potential 5K connection, of which, if I am able to create an impact on atleast 10 connections, that would be worthwhile!
