2020 – A year that has turned the tables for many. People and companies have to be on their toes and think out of the box. The entire scenario has changed. Global Economy has been shattered. People have lost thier jobs in ample. The movement of money rotation has been deteriorated, as a resulted the world is facing is liquidity crunch.
By the end of 2020, those who shall strive hard shall survive. Not only striving will suffice, it will be important how you tackle these tough times because that will determine how far will you go. This is the time to make your brand – especially if you’re at a mid level position. To take a leap forward, this is the best time. As they say, tough times don’t last long but tough people do.

I feel that life is all about brand building. Building your own brand. The Me Brand. A brand which will make you, your family and your friends proud of. A story which people will speak. A story which people will remember. The first five years of your professional career is to understand what actually you want to be and foresee yourself for the rest of your life. The next five years is to lay the stepping stone to build the Me Brand. And the rest is to make the brand bigger and better.
I look at our Honorable PM Mr. Narendra Modi and consider him as one of the influencers I follow in my life apart from people like Steve Jobs, Dhirubhai Ambani and Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam. Through his struggles, through his determination, he has created a brand of himself which will easily be a case study at the IIMs in the times to come.
As I say, for mid level professional like me, this is definitely the best time to focus on what you actually want, dig down to achieve it and create a brand which will be there forever. While, the freshers should introspect and understand what they really want in life. Gone are times when one used to update the job portal and apply and gone are the days when you used jugaad to fit in the company. The times ahead will only focus on what is your value in the market through your work, in front of your peers and in your network. It’s the time when only your work will speak and that sound will be louder than ever.
It’s all about creating your own value in the ecosystem you exist as the “Me” brand today, in these tough times, you create, will be a major boost for your better tomorrow.
A very deep quote from the famous English designer, Alice Temperley, as she once said, “You have to stay true to your heritage, that’s what your brand is about”
