HR & Jobs in the Post Covid Era!

In a country like India, where the supply-demand ratio of jobs remains unbalanced, tough competition arises for a single vacancy.

Times are also such that HR personnel find it painful to select the candidate who posses the exact skill and can fit into the company value culture.

I also completely agree to the fact there are masses who aren’t suitable for a certain set of jobs or companies as it requires quality skills, which is hard to find. Times are also such that HR personnel find it painful to select the right candidate who posses the skills and can fit into the company value culture.

But, there are also jobs where normal skilled people qualify and are suitable to apply for it. I have few questions that hover my mind a lot of times during such times-
#1 The candidates apply for a job at a company career website, there is neither an acknowledgement mail nor any response. Zero assessment for the application
#2 If by any chance, the HR fixes up an interview, and the candidates is not able to get through, there is no constructive feedback given.
#3 There are positions which gets filled either internally or through references, but shown vacant on the career site. (Nowadays, mostly references work!)

I have personally gone through above all points at some point or the other. Rejection is a part of life and I accept it with a smile.

Especially, in the post Covid-19 time, when jobs are opening, a change in the process is necessary. A clear process should be developed by every company so that the applicant is well aware of the progression. This is by no means a negative post towards HR function.

Just my thoughts, happy to hear yours.
