Mistakes. Well, I have done lots. And lots. But luckily, each mistake was different from the previous ones. And every mistake of mine taught me things that have helped me to grow.
Whenever I get a chance to meet with my close set of people and all of us are together, we laugh a lot about our mistakes – how it made us grow and how it made us what we are. We reflect back on our innocence, childishness and of course lack of experience. Evolving and learning from the experience is what makes us better people. Not repeating the same thing differentiates us humans from apes, primarily.
Experience is surely the best teacher. Sometimes, mistakes are also an experience. From a professional front, one of the biggest mistakes I made was to choose one of the jobs that I did, a few years back. I had two offers in my hand – one was a startup, now a listed company and the other was a job that I did. I had to select between the gut feeling and the voices around me. Unfortunately, I opted as per the opinions I received around me and that was the wrong thing, I did. Literally, as time passed, I was on the verge of hitting depression and was at my lowest point in that place. I decided to move on. The biggest lesson – Always listen to your guts. From thereon, I have never been wrong. Always did what my guts said.
So, Do Mistakes -> Learn -> Move On.
Never repeat those mistakes and always remember them. You’ll surely laugh at those down the line.
