A Leader’s True Win

One of my manager, who is now my mentor and a very close friend, planned a long vacation abroad. Instead of choosing a single replacement, he divided his work amongst us five team members, assigning tasks based on our strengths.

When he returned, everything had run smoothly. His absence wasn’t felt. But deep down, he knew it wouldn’t be—because he trusted his team.

That appraisal cycle? The entire team grew. A couples of years later, each of us had our own teams.

So, whose win was it? The manager’s or the individuals’?

Moral : True leaders don’t create followers. They create more leaders.
