The most commonly found word in job description in the Indian corporate word is – self starter and motivated.
It’s tough to remain on the top of the game every single day.
How does an individual remain motivated or a “self starter”? I tried giving a thought to it.
Here’s what I do to stay motivated –
1. First and foremost, I pen down my thoughts. Writing makes me happier
2. I watch Cricket of the late 90’s till early 2010’s. I somehow connect the corporate life to cricket, especially after reading The Winning Way by Harsha Bhogle & Anita Bhogle. That story depicts how a team became a powerhouse only by its sheer will to win and doing it consistently.
At times, being a Red Devil, watch ManU matches where they’ve bounced back hard
3. I speak to my friends/family and laugh out on the past memories together.
4. I constantly hammer myself of the goals I’ve set for myself for the year. I generally make to a list of things to be achieved for the year, on my every birthday.
5. I go on a walk, alone. This keeps me secluded for sometime to introspect with myself. Mistakes and Improvements to be worked upon, while extracting out positivity from the good work.
It’s more about finding the purpose, being on the ground and getting things done.
