A few days ago, my wife looked at me and said,
“Why are you renewing your website again? You didn’t even publish anything there last year. It’s just a waste of money.”
She wasn’t wrong.
Over the last year, most of my writing found its way to LinkedIn. My website quietly sat there, waiting.
But I renewed it anyway.
Because zankhitdesai.com was never just a website.
Six years ago, on 15th July 2020, I created it because I felt lost.
I wasn’t looking for an audience.
I wasn’t trying to build a personal brand.
I was simply looking for clarity.
A place where I could slow down, think, and understand myself a little better.
That website became my digital sanctuary.
Every blog, every LinkedIn post, every story became a conversation with myself before it became one with the world.
Looking back over six years…
• 140+ pieces of writing.
• Hundreds of thousands of people reached.
• One post crossed 7.6 lakh views.
• Thousands of meaningful conversations.
• New friendships.
• Career opportunities.
• Speaking invitations.
• A stronger network.
But none of those are my biggest takeaway.
Writing gave me something far more valuable.
It helped me organize my thoughts before making decisions.
It taught me to observe more carefully.
It made me communicate better.
It forced me to learn continuously.
And every time life felt uncertain, writing quietly brought me back to myself.
That’s why I’ll continue renewing that little corner of the internet.
Not because it’s popular.
But because it’s home.
Here’s to six years of writing.
And hopefully, to many more years of thinking, learning, and sharing.
P.S. My wife was right about one thing though.
